St. Petri Church is the oldest church in Hamburg and is located directly opposite Hamburg City Hall. This Gothic hall church invites visitors not only to linger and reflect, but also to listen to the organists and take a breath. Unlike other churches, St. Petri is quite minimalist in its interior design, impressing with its simplicity and incredible ceiling height. The most remarkable feature of St. Petri Church, however, is its tower, which can be reached via 544 steps. At 123 meters high, it is one of the tallest climbable towers in Germany. A word of caution: the climb is not for those with a fear of heights or claustrophobia. The platforms become increasingly narrow, and the top platform can only accommodate three people at a time. However, the reward is an incredible view over Hamburg. Even those who don't make it to the very top can enjoy a fantastic view from the intermediate levels. Here, too, you can discover treasures of the old St. Petri Church, a fire brigade museum, and the church's enormous bells. There's also a small Smart car belonging to the fire department parked in the tower at a height of 28 meters. You can find out how that came about here. Climbing the tower costs €4.00 for adults and €2.00 for children (families pay €10.00). The small church shop also includes a café; from there you can go directly to the tower. Guided tours, concerts, and church services are held regularly in the church.

Dialog im Dunkeln
The Dialogue House Hamburg offers two extraordinary experiences – Dialogue in the Dark and Dialogue in Silence – that leave a lasting impression and change one's perspective on perception, communication, and interaction. In Dialogue in the Dark, visitors immerse themselves in complete darkness and explore various realistic themed rooms together with a visually impaired or blind guide. These include a park, a living room, and a busy street. Orientation is achieved solely through hearing, touch, and communication – an experience that can be quite challenging and unsettling at first. However, thanks to the guides' warm, humorous, and professional approach, trust quickly develops. Step by step, participants are safely led through the darkness. The strong group dynamic that develops spontaneously is particularly impressive: participants help and support each other and grow together as a group – without being able to see one another. A very special highlight is the harbor tour in a themed room, offered only on select days, which uniquely complements the experience. Each tour concludes in the Dark Bar, where guests can enjoy drinks and light snacks in total darkness. A little tip: It's worth having some small change with you.
